Welcome!

Welcome on this website, made by André Kempe and Ruud Kempe. We have both been taking photographs of ships, especially tugboats, for years, and on this site we would like to show you as many pictures of our collection as we possibly can.

We both live in the small town of Vlissingen, located in the southwestern part of the Netherlands. Vlissingen sits close to the "Westerschelde" river, which is a very busy shipping route towards the port of Antwerp, Belgium.

As we see a lot of ships go by, sometimes we get the opportunity to take some pictures of them... as we have been doing for over 20 years.

We have also been on holiday a few times, and made some pictures over there... anything with ships on it!

Worldwide pictures

In addition to that, I (Ruud) have been working on ships since 1989, which gave me the opportunity to make pictures all over the world. I first worked for Nedlloyd, then I went cruising with Holland America Line for 6 years, and at present I work for P&O North Sea Ferries.

At present I work on the "European Trader", a freight-RoRo on a service between Europoort and Teesport. I will squeeze a picture of this ship in as soon as I can...

I have also included some reports about drydocks I have witnessed, and some other occurences which you all might find interesting.

I plan to update the site if and when we make some new pictures. But for now, I hope you enjoy the photos that can be found on this site. Because of space limitations, it is unfortunately impossible to show them at their original resolution!!
